Watch 8K VR180 on Apple Vision Pro
Vision Pro downloads files in Safari and keeps them in the Files app. To watch in 180° 3D, open the file in a VR180 player from the App Store.
Step by step
Install a VR180 player
In the App Store on Vision Pro, install a player that opens 180° side-by-side files, such as Moon Player, Reality Player or Skybox for visionOS. Features vary, so check the app description.
Open your link in Safari
Open your private download page in Safari and start the download. Confirm if Safari asks.
Find the file in Files
When the download finishes, the MP4 is in the Downloads folder of the Files app, in iCloud Drive or On My Apple Vision Pro depending on your Safari settings.
Open it in the player
Open or import the file from inside the player, or share it from the Files app to the player.
Choose 180° side by side
If the player doesn't detect the format, set it to 180° 3D side by side (SBS, left-right).
Tips
If Safari saves downloads to iCloud Drive, the file is also uploaded and uses iCloud storage. You can change the download location in Safari's settings.
Keep Safari open and the headset charged until the download is complete.
If 8K playback isn't smooth in one player, try another; decoding performance varies by app.
You can also download on a Mac and send the file to Vision Pro with AirDrop.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the built-in Photos or TV app?
Apple's built-in apps are designed for Apple's own spatial and immersive formats, so a side-by-side VR180 MP4 may not appear in 3D there. A VR180 player app is the reliable choice.
Where did Safari save the file?
In the Downloads folder of the Files app. You can also open Safari's downloads list to find it.
Do I need a Mac?
No. Vision Pro can download and play files on its own. A Mac is handy for AirDrop or for keeping a backup.
